The William B. Travis Academy project involved construction of a major building addition supported by a structural steel frame with masonry veneer exterior and a modified bituminous roofing system. The addition was constructed on a concrete slab foundation supported by drilled piers and included a dedicated storm shelter.
The project also included demolition of the existing hydronic steam system and installation of a new VAV HVAC system, relocation of portable classrooms, and expansion of the existing concrete parking lot. These improvements significantly enhanced safety, system performance, and campus capacity.
